Chuck Grossman is a seasoned entertainer born and raised in Colorado. With great energy and talent, Chuck is a versatile fingerstyle guitarist/vocalist whose influences include Keb Mo, John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Chet Atkins, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Little Feat. His genres include blues, bluegrass, funk, folk, rock, swing, jazz and classical, adding his own flavor to each. Employing looping technology in his live shows (although nothing is pre-recorded) and playing through a Bose PA, Chuck creates a very full sound and he has the ability to entertain a wide variety of audiences, young and old.
Additional to being a musicologist and recording engineer/producer, Chuck is a renowned rock climber and mountaineer. His passion is obvious to anyone who has climbed with him or seen him perform. Chucks interests in recording and climbing have led him on a journey of discovery and he is currently involved in recording and archiving live performances throughout the world. He is embarking on a climbing/musical expedition to the Karakoram Range in Pakistan to record and perform with regional artists and attempt to climb the 20,000ft Trango Tower, one of the largest rock spires in the world.
Chuck performed in the ski towns of Colorado since the late 70’s and became the house musician for the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Beaver Creek, CO in 2003. He became the house musician for the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe, CA in 2009 and at the Ritz in Denver in 2013. Over the years Chuck has toured extensively in the US and Europe and performed in Canada and Mexico. Chuck also produced a soundtrack for the 22 time International Film Festival Award winning documentary “Jump” in 2003. He recently relocated to Crested Butte, CO and is performing in clubs and venues throughout the country as well as recording new projects. He is currently the house musician for Elevation Spa and Resort in Crested Butte, CO. His most recent project is recording music for Jeff Lowe’s “Metanoia”; a film coming out in spring 2014 about the life of this amazingly inspirational person!
Chuck has opened for Little Feat, Martin Sexton, Stanley Jordan, Norman Blake, Trout Fishing in America and shared the stage with Leftover Salmon, Tony Furtado, Yonder Mountain String Band, Richard Ray Farrel and countless others.
Some people are born to play music… Chuck is one of them!
